Yazeed Al Rajhi Claims Historic Fifth Consecutive Saudi Toyota Rally Championship Title

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Our global champion, Yazeed Al Rajhi has secured his fifth consecutive Saudi Toyota Desert Rally Championship title after a commanding victory in Baja Jeddah, the third and final round of the 2025 season. With this achievement, Al-Rajhi extends his unmatched dominance on home soil, becoming the first and only Saudi driver to control the championship since its inception.

Since the launch of the series in 2019, Al-Rajhi has written a remarkable chapter in Saudi motorsport history, capturing titles in 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025—five championships, all achieved consecutively. No other competitor has come close to such a streak, further solidifying Al-Rajhi’s legacy as the leading figure in Saudi rallying.

The 2025 season, composed of three national rounds, saw Al-Rajhi win every single event, underscoring the complete dominance of Yazeed Racing and its ability to control every race across the Kingdom’s diverse terrains.

The season was not without adversity. Al-Rajhi suffered a back injury during Baja Jordan, his only injury of the year. Despite the setback, he made a strong comeback, returning to full form and entering Baja Jeddah with maximum readiness, ultimately clinching his fifth championship title.

Yazeed Racing confirmed that this season involved intensive technical development in collaboration with Overdrive Racing, during which a newly upgraded Toyota Hilux was tested extensively in Jeddah. The car demonstrated exceptional reliability and performance, proving fully prepared to defend the team’s 2025 Dakar Rally victory.

Al-Rajhi emphasized that preparations for Dakar 2026 have already begun through these tests, noting that the strong results across the recent rounds—following his return from injury—significantly boosted the team’s overall readiness. He praised co-driver Timo Gottschalk and the entire technical crew for entering the next phase in top form.

“Thank God, closing out 2025 with a fifth consecutive Saudi Toyota Championship title is truly special. This season featured three tough rounds, and despite my back injury in Baja Jordan, I was able to come back and win all the races,” Al Rajhi said.

“Yazeed Racing delivered a flawless season, and the Hilux performed at the highest level under Overdrive’s guidance. Our focus now shifts to Dakar, and we are fully prepared to defend our 2025 title and compete for another world-class season.”

Overdrive Racing also noted that the upgraded Hilux underwent extensive testing earlier this year, including in Morocco, demonstrating strong durability and speed—qualities essential for the challenges of the Dakar Rally.

With this achievement, Yazeed Al Rajhi further solidifies his status as the only Saudi driver to dominate every round of the national rally championship since its establishment, marking a new era of excellence and professionalism for Saudi motorsport.

Al-Rajhi extended heartfelt thanks to H.R.H. Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, for his continued support and leadership in advancing motorsport in the Kingdom. He emphasized that today’s achievements reflect the Prince’s vision and commitment to nurturing Saudi talent and elevating the sport locally and internationally.

He also expressed deep gratitude to Jameel Motorsport, the team’s official sponsor, praising their unwavering support, which played a crucial role in maintaining the team’s momentum and achieving outstanding success throughout the 2025 season. Al Rajhi highlighted that this partnership is a key pillar in enabling the team to compete at the highest level in every round and every championship.
